Elgin Elementary & BTW
Elementary School Cafeterias
Lunch menus are planned on a 3-week cycle with
cycle one being the first week of school. Two entrees will be offered
daily. Both items are complete meals and are available to all students.
Students may choose one entree and any or all the vegetables and fruit
and/or dessert offered with each menu. A choice of milk is offered each
day. Meals are prepared at each campus kitchen and provide 1/3 of the
recommended daily dietary allowances.
National School Lunch &
Breakfast Programs
The Elgin Independent School District
participates in the National School Lunch & Breakfast Programs.
Under the provisions of these programs, school breakfast and lunches are
available for free or for a reduced price to students whose families
meet certain income criteria regard to race, sex, color, national
origin, age or handicap. Applications are available at each school
office and at the Child Nutrition Office located at 805 West 10th
Street. Applications cannot be sent by fax or received by fax. You may
call (512) 281-9755 for more information. All application information is
held in complete confidence.
Student Accounts
The Child Nutrition Department is on a
computerized account system. Every student is set up with his or her own
account using an identification number. Students may use their account
to purchase breakfast, lunch and extras. A parent or guardian may
request their child's account to be set up with restrictions. Students
who do not have money in their account or cash to purchase lunch will be
offered a Peanut Butter Sandwich and Milk at no charge. No alternate
meal will be offered for breakfast.
Prepayments
Prepayments will be accepted
prior to lunch. Prepayments in advance help eliminate your child from
having to bring money to school daily or losing money.
